Hello all you Monster Kart Mayhem fans! It’s been a while since we’ve released anything for this ghoulish racing RPG, but here are a couple new characters just in time for Halloween.
Monster Kart Mayhem adds two new racers for use with your games: Francesca Stein and Frankie Jr. Both are related to everyone’s favorite stitched-together monster, and both are eager to prove themselves at the Monster Mash.
This PDF provides character descriptions, pre-filled character sheets, and tokens for use with your games.
Check out the game’s official page or get your copy from DriveThruRPG.
Monster Kart Mayhem is now tearing up the road in style. Now available in full color, premium quality at DriveThruRPG, the kart-racing, monster-mashing game of ghoulish goodness is ready to hit your bookshelf or your table in spectacular style.
This print edition of Monster Kart Mayhem includes all of the great gameplay and art of the original PDF version, plus all of the edits and updates to make it the most current version of this family game.
You can get your copy today at DriveThruRPG for just $14.99.
For more about the game, check out the Monster Kart Mayhem page here at Accessible Games.
We’ve finally finished the proofing process for the Monster Kart Mayhem Print-on-Demand edition, wich should be coming soon. After updating the PDF on DriveThruRPG, we added a few new supplemental downloads to the bundle. You can get these downloads for free on our Monster Kart Mayhem page.
These downloads include:
- A pack of nine pre-generated character sheets, filled with all of the details for the book’s nine iconic racers.
- A form-fillable character sheet so you can create your own racers using an electronic character sheet.
- A pack of the five print-outs at the back of the book for ease of printing.
If you don’t have your own copy yet, you can get Monster Kart Mayhem from DriveThruRPG for just $9.99. If you do have your copy already, make sure you download the latest PDF, which includes several typo and formatting fixes.

First thing’s first…
I’m super excited to announce that Monster Kart Mayhem was nominated for one of BoardGameGeek’s Golden Geek Awards! It has been nominated for Best RPG of 2014 and is up against such titans as Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition, the Firefly RPG, and AMP: Year One. It may be the underdog in this race, but I know it’ll put on a good show.
You can help Monster Kart Mayhem (and AMP: Year One, because that game is amazing) by heading over to BoardGameGeek to vote.
Secondly, I received the first proof copy of the Monster Kart Mayhem print edition. The book is gorgeous, and my wife’s first impression is that it looks even better in print than it does on the screen. I wouldn’t argue.
Unfortunately, there are just enough issues with the proof that I need to fix it and send … Continue reading
Your title Monster Kart Mayhem (Softcover Color Book (Premium)) has cleared premedia processing and is ready for hardcopy proofing.
That’s the sound of Monster Kart Mayhem nearing its availability as a print-on-demand product. I’m ordering proofs today and should have my copy within two weeks. Assuming everything looks good in the printed proof copy, I’ll approve it for sale as a print-on-demand product at DriveThruRPG.
Some of you have expressed interest in having printed copies of MKM available, so it’s exciting to be able to tell you these will be coming soon. Hopefully by the end of February you’ll be able to get your very own.
Unfortunately we didn’t make it to the Monstrous Edition stretch goal as part of the Monster Kart Mayhem Kickstarter, so this is just the core book right now. Anyone who has purchased a copy of MKM will receive a coupon … Continue reading

This entry is part 21 of 21 in the series Monster Kart Monday
The Monster Kart Mayhem Kickstarter campaign ended last night, and we had a successful run. With the help of 49 amazing backers, we reached 167% of our initial goal to end at a total of $1669.
We landed just shy of our first stretch goal, but at only $81 off the mark I’ll be able to fund one adventure pack with profits from initial sales of the core book. That means Monster Kart Mermaids may come out a little later than I’d thought, unless I’m able to pull together funds from another source in the mean time, but it’s not completely out of the picture.
As for the other adventure packs, we’ll see how it goes. If sales are strong, we may be able to do them. I’d especially love to … Continue reading
It’s the final countdown! (Cue ’80s rock music montage.)
Monster Kart Mayhem has entered its final two days on Kickstarter. As of the time of this writing, we’re about $300 away from meeting our first stretch goal, Monster Kart Mermaids. If you haven’t pledged yet, take a gander at this picture of one of the iconic racers for this adventure pack and tell me it doesn’t change your mind.
Still not convinced?
Here is a whole pile of links to various media related to Monster Kart Mayhem. Perhaps you’ve missed a few of them over the course of the last 30 days. They’re here in one helpful place now, so take a look!
Tabletop Day Recap – In this update, I talk about my experience running Monster Kart Mayhem during International Tabletop Day. I discovered just how easy this game is to … Continue reading
This entry is part 20 of 21 in the series Monster Kart Monday
The Monster Kart Mayhem Kickstarter has entered its final week. With less than 7 days to go as of this writing, we’re in good shape and making slow but steady progress.
If you haven’t seen it yet, head on over and read Update #10, in which I recap my experience running MKM during International Tabletop Day on April 5th. I had a great time and gained some useful insights into the game.
Though the Monstrous Edition stretch goal appears to be out of reach, we may still wind up with Mermaid Adventures and/or Camp Myth adventure packs. That’s really exciting, and I can’t wait to see what happens.
I have been making minor tweaks to the game based on the continued playtesting we’ve … Continue reading
