A lot can happen in a week. Since last Monday, the Monster Kart Mayhem Kickstarter met its initial funding goal of $1,000. I also had the opportunity to take it to my local Gamestorm gaming convention and run it for a few people, and I’ve set up a few interviews to promote the game.
I announced the successful funding of the campaign last Thursday in Campaign Update #4.
At Gamestorm, I was able to run the game twice. I got a lot of great playtesting feedback, including some valuable feedback from a mother who said she thought her kids would love the game. I’ll be making a few tweaks to the Beta document, most notably to the character sheets and player aids, to make the rules more quick reference-friendly.
I’ll be joining Richard Rogers in an episode of Fund or Fail on Tuesday, March 25th at 7:00 PM PST / 10 :00 PM EST. In Fund or Fail, Richard interviews game designers who have current Kickstarter campaigns. Visit the event page and indicate that you’ll be watching so you can get reminders about when it’s starting.
The time isn’t set yet, but I’ll be talking with James Paese of Fudgit Publishing in an interview about the game as well, and I’ll be running a live game on Thursday with Chris Lewis Carter, the author of Camp Myth, on which the game’s 2nd adventure pack is based. Stay tuned for details on the exact times.
Finally, I’ve detailed a few of the concepts I’ve come up with for backer-exclusive characters in Update #5. Check it out for details.
